Make space
for plants
No garden is too small to grow your own food
Organic produce
I grow vegetables and herbs all throughout the year. Pears and apples are harvested in summer and most of the fruit is being preserved to be enjoyed during the winter months.

My Story
gardening as a mindfulness practice
There are few things that I find more relaxing than digging around in the soil in my back garden. Just being outside for a while every day energises me and I usually have one or several outdoor projects going. Let it be repotting my plants, painting the shed, building an outdoor bar from pallets and the list goes on. It’ll never get boring when living on an acre with so many possibilities. Here in Spain I enjoy growing vegetables year round.

Raised garden beds
After moving into the new house in January 2021, I couldn’t wait to convert the backyard into a productive vegetable garden. Having moved here from Ireland, I wasn’t prepared for the factors that came with the different climate. I am not someone who gets rid of weeds on a regular basis, just when they become invasive and are stunting the growth of beneficial herbs or vegetables. I found out the hard way that this method doesn’t work here because with more weeds come more ants (an insane amount of them) and of course mosquitos. That was one of the main reasons I went with the raised garden beds this year in 2022 and I am loving them. Of course there are other reasons why I would recommend having them in your garden. Check out the benefits I’ve listed on the right.
- Better control of unwanted plants
- Soil warms quicker
- Soil is less compacted
- Can be turned into mini hoop tunnels
- No tilling required
- Better drainage
- Will help keep out critters
- Your back will thank you
